As part of AUT’s Research Week, Te Rau Auaha TTRN collaborated with two other research networks, Toi o Te Ora Health and Wellbeing, and Te Whare Tūroa Regenerative Environments to host a symposium focusing on the changing research and funding environment.
We were fortunate to have Sir Peter Gluckman, Sir Peter Hill and Professor David Cowan speak from their vast experience and share insights into how AUT researchers can best position themselves in a dynamic research funding environment.
This was followed by a panel session with Dr Conal Smith (Kōtātā Insight), Le-Shan Pomana-Wesley (Health Research Council), Chris Hill (AUT Ventures), Adjunct Professor Robyn Whittaker, facilitated by AUT Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research Mark Orams.
In the afternoon, Te Rau Auaha TTRN hosted a panel discussion which focused upon how we can support AUT researchers to navigate the new challenges and opportunities in the transformational technologies research space.
The day highlighted the importance of focusing on AUT’s strengths in research and the value of collaboration between the research networks in building a transdisciplinary culture.
